Editor's Note

Hey, how do you like us, how do like us? We're going through a bit of a re-design, so please be patient. Our goals are simplicity and accessiblity, so if you like what you see and think we're headed in the right direction, let us know. Or let us know how we can be better. We're delighted to have memoirist Marion Winik provide this issue High Five. She discusses five, give or take, essential memoirs, a timely and pertinent topic that we've yet to broach. Winik is the author of five books, including The Glen Rock Book of the Dead, which will be available later this year, and currently teaches at the University of Baltimore. We're awfully lucky to have Marion here in Charm City, for what we hope will be a while.

I also want to thank Adam Robinson, our new books editor at JMWW. You may know him as the genius behind Publishing Genius, a fantastic chapbook press here in Baltimore. And, as our book review editor, he has grown our review section by leaps and bounds already. And, if you don't believe me, check out our list of books and chapbooks in the contents. As always, if you have something you think we would like, don't hesitate to send it to us. We love getting books, especially in the mail. It's a nice contrast to Netflix ads and the Pennysaver.

Oh yeah. The stories and poetry and stuff. We've got some really strong ones this issue. A lot of them. Stop making things so hard for us. We can't publish seven stories every issue. Or can we? Give us a reason to try. Or at least say hello to us as we hit the spring festival circuit. We'll be at the CityLit Festival in Baltimore on April 19th and at Pilcrow in Chicago in June in spirit. I guess that's it until summer. Check back in late June for our co-ed swimsuit edition. Or come back weekly. We're attempting to update our website and myspace weekly so that the periods of longing and desire between our dates won't be quite so song. Did we mention we were paying for dinner AND a movie?
