Editor's Note
Thanks for checking out the Fall issue of jmww! It's been awhile since we've had a featured poet for our High Five, so we're very pleased to have Christine Stewart discuss what's moving her in the world of poetry. Christine is a poet, educator, and administrator in the arts here in Baltimore, and we can't think of anyone with a better pedigree or taste.
We're also delighted to feature artist Rachel Bradley. Her newest series, hellboxes, is a move away from her photography work toward found object assemblages. Bradley, who went to school in Baltimore (our own Towson U), now lives in Brooklyn with her husband and filmmaker, Luca Dipierro (whose flash piece "One Thing I Know" is featured in this issue as well). Together, they created Black Arrow Studio & Press last year, an exciting new press and media company whose first book, Santi: Lives of Modern Saints, was reviewd by jmww earlier this year. BAP is a press to watch.
In addition to our fantastic authors, poets, artists, and books reviews, we now feature the columnist Lady LitBlizin! LLB has been blogging about the literary scene for years, and we're thrilled to have her column run in jmww. In our transition from quarterly journal to anytime journal, we're in the process of adding other columnists and new features. If you have an idea for a column or a blog or something that you can write about once every few weeks (or even every day), give us a holler
Thanks for visting, and enjoy the Fall issue! And, if you're in Baltimore, visit us at the Towson Writer's Conference on November 8th!
