Editor's Note

Strange fascination, fascinating me
Changes are taking the pace I'm going through
—David Bowie, Changes

As often as I love singing Bowie, I never get an opportunity to quote him. I thought it only appropriate here, given the changes that have taken place in the journal the past few months. Yes, I'm still the same gal plodding her way through HTML and organizational challenges ("where did I put that poem?), and Catherine is still sharp as a tack in her duties as senior fiction editor, but we've added some new faces to our masthead. First, I'm pleased to welcome Vincent Cioffi as our new senior poetry editor. (No, he does not look like Charlie Brown. Please encourage Vincent to send us a proper picture.) He brings along with him a quite-impressive resume as a former contributing editor to the Cortland Review and, as a result, a slew of quite-respectable poetry submissions have followed him here. Naturally, I couldn't be happier. I'm also pleased to announce the arrival of Andreea Ciobanu as associate fiction editor. In addition, we welcome Alyce Lomax as associate fiction editor beginning with the Fall issue. So much talent under one little web site! What's a girl to do except dream happy dreams and...wonder where all the fiction submissions are?

Seriously, folks. We've had a dearth of fiction submissions. It's not as if there aren't stories to tell, to be heard, in the wind, between cafe walls, driving to work, lying on the grass in the summer sun. Open your ears. Listen carefully. Send them to us. Please.

The authors—what about the authors, you say? Well, they're all quite good. Some have contributed before, some are new, but they all turned us on our head here at JMWW, and we hope they turn yours, too; hopefully, they'll change the pace you're going through.
