Rachel Bradley's Hellboxes

After considering myself a photographer for as long as I can remember, over the past couple of years I've abandoned the camera as my primary medium in favor of a more hands-on approach to mark-making and art.

On the street, at work, day in and day out, my collection of objects grows: small, shiny things, discarded lists, lost toys, colorful wrappers, dead leaves. Utilizing containers of different sizes and materials, I saw my mixed media found object assemblages grow.

They are containers for my obsessions: for preservation in a throw-away society, for telling stories and for preserving memory and personal history with the objects that define our lives.
